A holiday tradition continues at Leeward Community College Theatre as HBT presents its 27th annual production of The Nutcracker, December 12, 13, 19, and 20 where more than a hundred dancers will appear as Cakebearers, Bonbons,
Flowers, Snowflakes and other confections. Enjoy our ballet, which critics have hailed as "storytelling at its best... full of magic and grandeur".

In principal roles are Hiroko Kurokawa Ota (Sugarplum Fairy), Eric Carvill (Cavalier); Vernon Campbell (Drosselmeyer), Andrea Blankstein (Clara), Mark Otloski (Prince), Brian Murphy, and Amanda Takiguchi as Clara's ornery brother Fritz.

Also appearing is Broadway artist Christine Yasunaga, So You Think You Can Dance star Kupono Aweau and local dancers Autumn Ogawa, Jacob Himoto, Lauren Yuen, Travers King, and Nicole Ikeda. More than a hundred dancers are in the cast.

All matinees are followed by a free “Sugarplum Tea with Santa”, where the audience can meet the dancers in costume for photos and autographs. For the Saturday evening performance the audience can enjoy free hot chocolate and coffee, as well as special discount tickets for all students.
