A holiday tradition continues at Kaimuki High School Auditorium when Hawaii Ballet Theatre presents its 38th annual production of The Nutcracker, November 30, December 1, and 2. Guest artists from the mainland and our finest local professionals will join more than a hundred other dancers appearing as Cakebearers, Bonbons, Flowers, Snowflakes and other delightful confections. Critics have hailed this ballet as "storytelling at its best... full of magic and grandeur".

Matinees are followed by a free “Sugarplum Tea with Santa”, where the audience can meet the dancers in costume for photos and autographs. Special student discounts are offered for evening performances.

This production is sometimes called the “Leeward Nutcracker” because it has been performed for many years at the Leeward Theatre, presently undergoing renovation. So this is an opportunity to see HBT’s magnificent ballet, as “the Leeward Nutcracker comes to town”.

Kaimuki High School Auditorium is located on the campus of Kaimuki High School – 2705 Kaimuki Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii at the corner of Kaimuki Avenue and Kapiolani Boulevard. It is the home of the Department of Education’s regional performing arts center for the Honolulu District.
